Your Madibu care manual
Rinse, dry, and reuse. This Madibu care guide is designed to help your favorite bikinis stay beautiful for years to come.
Swimwear Care
Wash
Hand wash your Madibu with cool or lukewarm water. When washing your swimsuits, it’s essential to use gentle, mild soaps that won’t damage delicate fabrics or strip away colors. Here are some great options: sensitive skin bar soap, a little bit of detergent, or baby shampoo.
Important to not do the following when washing
Avoid scrubbing or twisting. Use your hands to gently clean the fabric, focusing on any soiled areas. Never wring, twist, or scrub the swimsuit as this can damage the fibers and stretch it out. Rinse the swimsuit with cool water until all soap is removed. Avoid machine washing or drying, as these can damage the elasticity and fabric of your swimsuit. Avoid Harsh Chemicals - Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh detergents. Rinse with fresh water after exposure to chlorine to prevent discoloration or fabric breakdown.
Drying
Lay Flat to DryPress the swimsuit gently between a towel to remove excess water. Lay it flat on a clean, dry towel in a shaded area to air dry. Avoid hanging, as it can stretch the fabric or laying other wet/colored suits on top of eachother as it can blend colors in some situations.
Medal Garments
Wash
Rinse your swimwear in cool, fresh water immediately after swimming to remove salt, chlorine, and sunscreen, which can help possibly tarnish or corrode metal pieces. Hand wash your swimsuit, carefully cleaning around the metal pieces to avoid snagging or bending.
Dry
After washing, gently pat the swimsuit dry with a towel. Ensure the metal pieces are completely dry to prevent any damage overtime. Avoid air drying in direct sunlight and never use bleach, harsh detergents, or abrasive cleaning tools that could scratch or discolor the metal.
Aftercare
Store your swimwear flat in a dry, cool place. Avoid folding it in a way that could put stress on the metal accents.
Clothing and coverups
Our eco-friendly BamBamboo cotton dresses + coverups are soft, breathable, and eco-friendly, but they require proper care to maintain their durability and softness. Here’s how to care for them:
Wash
Hand Washing is always recommended and using cold water with a mild detergent. Gently swirl the dress in water and avoid scrubbing. Machine Washing: If using a washing machine, place the dress in a mesh laundry bag and select a gentle cycle with cold water. Opt for a detergent that’s gentle, free of harsh chemicals, and suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners, as they can weaken fibers and reduce softness.
Drying & Ironing
Avoid High Heat- Water Temperature: Always use cold or lukewarm water. Hot water can shrink bamboo fibers. Drying: Air drying is best. Lay the dress flat on a clean towel or hang it to dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause fading. If ironing is needed, use the lowest heat setting and steam to remove wrinkles. Place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric to avoid direct heat.
After care & Stains
Store your dress in a cool, dry place. Fold it neatly to avoid stretching, or hang it on padded hangers to maintain its shape. Avoid overcrowding in your closet. Handle Stains Immediately by dabbing stains with cold water and mild soap immediately. Avoid scrubbing, which can damage the fibers. Avoid Harsh Chemicals- Bamboo cotton is sensitive to strong chemicals. Avoid dry cleaning unless absolutely necessary, and ensure the cleaner uses a gentle process.
By following these care tips, your bamboo cotton dresses will stay soft, vibrant, and in excellent condition for years to come!
